Terms of Business

C.O.D.: Orders are shipped COD or credit card in advance, unless an account has been established. Refused COD shipments will be subject to a 10% restocking fee, plus the cost of freight out & back.

CREDIT CARDS: We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Payments by Credit Card are subject to a Convenience Fee.

OPEN ACCOUNT: You may apply for an open account by submitting a completed credit application. The credit process takes approximately two weeks, and you will be notified when approved. Open account terms are Net 30 days from the date of the invoice. There is a $25.00 service charge on all returned checks. Accounts that do not want sales tax charged must complete and return a tax exemption certificate to Essco. Sales tax will be charged until we have received the completed certificate.

MINIMUM ORDER: Our minimum order is $30.00. We will ship orders under our minimum for a $5.00 handling charge. Add-ons to orders in house are exempt from the minimum order fee.

BACKORDERS: If we don’t have the product you need in either facility at the time of order, we will ship your backorders for free when the item becomes available. If backorders can be filled from another warehouse, they will ship free freight (excluding non-qualifying machines and central vac pipe).  If you choose not to accept back orders, we can mark your account accordingly.  

FREIGHT CHARGES:  Eligible freight charges within the continental United States, on parts orders of $550.00 or more that are paid within payment terms may be deducted. The amount eligible for deduction will be noted on the invoice. Late payment of these invoices voids the free freight provision. Freight deduction must be taken at time of initial payment only. Vacuum cleaners, Central Vacuum Units and Pipe are excluded from the free freight program as are any COD fees. See the new Essco freight policy for additional details.

DAMAGED or LOST MERCHANDISE:  You should document the condition of the damaged freight when you receive it, on the delivery receipt. It is also best practice to inspect the shipment before you sign off on the delivery receipt.

When you inspect your shipment, here are signs of damage that you should look for:
•    Rips in packaging 
•    Dents in boxes or box corners 
•    Water marks or stains 
•    Mildew damage 
•    Punctures in containers 
•    Moisture or signs of leaking 
•    Unauthorized double stacking 
•    Evidence that packages have shifted on the pallet 
•    Evidence of opened packages or broken tape or seals 
•    Re-taped boxes 
•    Torn shrink-wrap 
•    Any other suspicious markings on packages 

If you find any of these signs of damage, note it on the delivery receipt before signing it. Do not mark Delivery receipt subject to inspection, as this normally does not hold any credence with the carrier. Ensure your notation fully describes the condition of the shipment.

Check that the Shipment is Not Short 
If you are unable to count the full number of packages within the driver’s presence, count the number of pallets and sign only for the number of pallets, rather than the number of packages. 

Check if there are any gaps within the center of the pallet where a missing package should be. Torn or cut stretch wrap could be a sign that a package was removed, so you should unwrap pallets with signs of tampering to count the packages while in the driver’s presence. 

If the shipment is short, write down the number of pieces that you received and circle it. Also note the number of missing packages and write “short” next to this number.
•    Ensure that the delivery receipt shows your name and address. 
•    Check that the labels on the packages are addressed to you. 
•    If your business has multiple locations, ensure that the delivery is for the correct location.

SHORTAGE CLAIMS: Claims for shortage must be made within 5 days of receipt.

SPECIAL ORDERS: We are more than happy to special order an item that is not currently an active item in our inventory. Special ordered items cannot be canceled or returned and will be ship immediately upon receipt from the manufacturer.

RETURNS: All goods to be returned to Essco require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Items included in the box but not on the RMA will not be credited and will be discarded. To obtain an RMA number, call an Essco customer service representative. Have a copy of your invoice available to give information to your representative. Essco doesn't accept third-party returns.

•    PARTS/MACHINES: No returns will be accepted after 30 days of purchase.  We can only credit new, unused, unmarked goods in their original packaging.  For machines that are out of box failure's or defective, please contact Essco for the vendor warranty policy.  All product returns not part of an order correction or adjustment, will incur a 15% handling fee.  No product returns will be accepted after 30 days without prior consent from  your Essco sales representative.  All product returns must receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) prior to the return.  Contact your Essco sales representative to obtain your RMA approval.  
•    SPECIAL ORDERS: No returns or cancellations are allowed on special order items. 

RETURN DIRECTIONS: Properly pack merchandise and include your name, address, invoice number, invoice date, part number and quantity being returned along with the reason for the return within the box. The only marking on the outside of the box should be the label addressed as followed:
